I have generally made myself stick to active players when searching for/creating the weekly header image, and it just so happens that there is ONE (1) active quarterback in the NFL that wears #12. That would be Nick Mullens, currently … Continue reading The Week 12 NFL Thread Is The Loneliest Number
I was afraid that 11 would not be a number generally used by quarterbacks, but those who are wearing #11 this season actually provide a great narrative. Former starters turned journeymen, all have their stories. Some funnier than others. Some … Continue reading The Week 11 NFL Thread Takes A Journey
Truth be told, this was just a kernel of an idea I’ve always had for a day thread concerning the collect call wars. Alas, 10/10/2020 has long past. To make this football-related, here’s Terry Bradshaw and Doug Flutie promoting the … Continue reading The Week 10 NFL Thread Saves On Collect Calls
We are all about the number 9 this week, so why not bring up the Sega Dreamcast, famously launched in North America on September 9, 1999? SEGA’s NFL 2K series was the one series that realistically challenged EA’s Madden franchise … Continue reading The Week 9 NFL Thread Is Thinking
(with apologies to our loyal Jets fans here, though to be fair none of you actually like Rodgers) Continue reading The Week 8 NFL Thread Wants Your Soul

Today is my 42nd birthday. I’m not sure how I feel about that as I type this roughly a week and a half before today. The march of time, things of that nature. Let’s instead talk about another Super Sentai, … Continue reading The Yearly Super Sentai Birthday (Day) Thread: Cops Over Thieves (7/21)
Once upon a time, there was a plucky upstart pro wrestling company called Southpaw Regional Wrestling. It came and went without much consequence, based on the complete lack of footage of it anywhere on the internet. However, hidden deep in … Continue reading The Day Thread (2/29) Prepares For Lethal Leap Year
It’s time for a yearly celebration of cheesy movies from some guys (and a gal) stuck up in space. Every topic has a day devoted to it. For instance, September 13, according to many websites on the internet I just conveniently looked up seconds before beginning to type this, is devoted to some of the following topics. Bald is … Continue reading The 9/13 Day Thread Celebrates Kaixa Day
I randomly decided to go to the Comic Strip Club the other day. *insert boos and hissing here* I scrolled all the way to the beginning of the thread, and there was one of our usual “favorites” in Pluggers. I … Continue reading The Night Thread (8/1) of Knowing More Than A Plugger
I am 41 today. But am I feeling lucky? Ah, but what a tease. We continue our yearly look at Super Sentai franchises with the 41st Super Sentai, Space Sentai Kyuranger. It’s my 40th birthday today. I don’t know how I feel about this. It’s just a number, yes. But I’m seeing some grey in my hair already. That’s not good! Am I truly getting older? Last year, I began what … Continue reading PT’s Annual Birthday (Day) Thread Forms An Animal Squadron (7/21)
This is The Avocado’s weekly pro wrestling thread where we talk about…well, pro wrestling. At least talk about something better than what you see above. On this date ten years ago, a Great Moment In Twitter History™ happened with this deeply nonsensical tweet from pro wrestling icon Hulk Hogan. Pro wrestling has been a carny business since the very beginning, and in many cases it … Continue reading The Day Thread (10/16) Works Itself Into A Shoot
The Rising, a yearly seasonal event within Final Fantasy XIV, began yesterday (8/27) and runs through Sept. 9th. It’s a notable in-game event for several reasons, some outside of the game itself.
