Woah, did you know a brand new console was coming out this week? Yeah, neither did I. This week is incredibly light which is pretty typical as the industry seems to carve out this time of year to focus on … Continue reading New Game Releases 06/15/21 – 06/21/21

We made it, the Summer months have arrived and it’s time to cut loose, gather in giant crowds, eat until our stomachs burst, but not TOO much because we still want to look good in our bathing suits. Then, once … Continue reading New Game Releases 06/08/21 – 06/14/21

Three years ago today the much beloved New Game Releases AKA Tuesday New Games column debuted right here on The Avocado. To celebrate, please enjoy this remastered version of that original column, back when I was a spry 37 year … Continue reading New Game Releases REMASTER 06/05/18 – 06/11/18

For the ninth time this year, the top game of the week is a port/remaster. On the one hand it’s great that we’re seeing older titles given new life and a chance to be preserved for future generations, but on … Continue reading New Game Releases 06/01/21 – 06/07/21

It’s another very packed week of new releases, but once again I don’t think any of these are major, AAA titles that you need to run out and buy on day one (unless you’re a die hard SMT fan). Still, … Continue reading New Game Releases 05/25/21 – 05/31/21

There are a ton of new games coming this week, but I’m not sure any of it is particularly noteworthy or “must play”. Still, indie titles typically outshine the AAA’s, so maybe something here is the next Braid or Celeste. … Continue reading New Game Releases 05/18/21 – 05/24/21

Things have been a bit crazy the last couple weeks in terms of big new releases so it is nice to have another small break from the madness. Still, that doesn’t mean we don’t have good stuff to play, as … Continue reading New Game Releases 05/11/21 – 05/17/21

VIDEO GAMES!!! We had a stellar release last week with Nintendo’s New Pokémon Snap and the hits continue this week with Capcom’s highly anticipated Resident Evil Village. I don’t really feel like doing commentary on the games this week, so instead I’ll do my cop out and post songs that each game reminds me of. ENJOY!   Top Releases: Poison Control (PS4/Switch) – Releases Apr. 13th Ashwalkers … Continue reading New Game Releases 04/13/21 – 04/19/21

Last week was NUTS, so it’s nice to have a bit of a breather this week. Still, a huge, HUGE game is releasing, so it’s not like we’re sitting here with another port as the top release. I tried to … Continue reading New Game Releases 03/30/21 – 04/05/21

Wow, there’s A LOT of games this week which, once again, has me wondering why some of these couldn’t have released in the few weeks prior to this one. I mean, what would you rather buy, Monster Hunter Rise or … Continue reading New Game Releases 03/23/21 – 03/29/21

The good news is that we have a lot of diverse, interesting titles coming out this week. The bad news is that none of them look like they are going to pull us out of this funk we’re in with … Continue reading New Game Releases 03/16/21 – 03/22/21

Well, there’s not really anything coming out this week, so I expect the comments to be somewhere around 25, but maybe we’ll all share our memories of Street Fighter II and get them somewhere around 50? I started drinking decaf … Continue reading New Game Releases 03/09/21 – 03/15/21

I thought March was supposed to come in like a lion, but instead it’s looking more like a snail *DAB*. Unless you’re a die hard fan of any of these franchises I would suggest skipping most of this stuff, or … Continue reading New Game Releases 03/02/21 – 03/08/21
