Man has forever waged war against nature, paving over every inch of land we use regularly, and after that, taking short cuts through the narrow strips of green space we leave ourselves, because I have to get over THERE by the QUICKEST route possible, fuck yo grass. Hence Desire Paths!

It’s been slim pickings for me since I last posted a thread about my sightings way back at the tail end of 2023, but I have still found some, including some proto-desire paths, one that’s more of a bicycle path than anything else, and one cruelly denied by the erection of a fence!

A reminder of the definition of a desire path as per Wikipedia: “A path created as a consequence of erosion caused by human or animal traffic. The path usually represents the shortest or most easily navigated route between an origin and destination. The width and severity of erosion are often indicators of the traffic level that a path receives.”
