It’s the beginning of a new year, one that so far looks to be more familiar for theater goers. Remember the days when we would nervously see how F9: The Fast Saga would perform in theaters? Or how The Suicide Squad would perform since it was being simultaneously released on streaming? Well, here’s to hoping that 2022 is free I such drama.

If you thought we were done with superheroes, think again. 2022 is full to the brim with superhero releases, as everyone from Batman to Aquaman to The Flash to Thor to Dr. Strange to Black Panther will be gracing us with their presence.

Caped crusaders aren’t the only ones making a return. 2022 will see John Wick thinking he’s back; the dinos from Jurassic going back on the rampage, Sonic getting to go fast again, and the Hotel Transylvania crew breaking teenage hearts everywhere by revealing what the Invisible Man looks like. And then there are the sequels that we kinda didn’t think were ever going to happen. Tom Cruise is back in Top Gun? We’re going back to the Bayverse with Transformers: Rise of the Beasts? The Rocky universe keeps chugging along with Creed III?

And then there are the original movies. Like… uh… Moonfall. Where Roland Emmerich destroys the earth again. There’s also the Uncharted movie, where Nathan Drake is played by …. Tom Holland?!?!? Wow. That’s the most unlikely pick for that role.

Today’s bonus prompt: What movie are you most excited for in 2022?
