Tonight we tip our pointy wizard’s hats to Orko, He-Man’s best friend and resident punching bag to everyone around him. Man-At-Arms, He-Man’s other best friend, has a particular amount of dislike for Orko, and probably wouldn’t attend his funeral if he were killed.

Orko was the comic relief character on He-Man & the Masters of the Universe, but he also showed up on She-Ra: Princess of Power a fair number of times. In the 2002 reboot of the series, it’s implied that Orko was actually once a very powerful wizard, but he required on his magical staff in order to keep his magic under control. When he lost it in a battle, he became an incompetent court magician.

Orko has become the butt of a lot of jokes among MOTU, with fanboy-friendly shows like Robot Chicken giving him an especially hard time. But there’s also a certain amount of love for him as well. So we salute you, Orko. May you find love even as Man-At-Arms constantly fantasizes about your death.
