Werewolf 99: The Suffering Game – Day 6

You’ve been tearing each other to shreds for our amusement for so long now. It’s time to end this. 

The remaining Saboteur tried desperately to take another stab at felling the Protector, just as the Serial Killer had before her, but alas, her target was simply too fine a warrior to lose to a simple magician.

The powerful, ancient being known as Santa Claus is on his last legs, but that doesn’t mean he’s lost his fighting spirit. Desperately needing atonement after his fatal mistake cost you the life of Eppie, the delightful Gnome Ranger, and imbued with one last surge of magic power as a parting gift from the cruel hosts of Wonderland, he took note of who she had suspected with her last breaths, and struck at Robin Branch-Break in the darkness.

Robin Branch-Break/LindsayGayDisaster has died. She was the Saboteur Captain.

Edward and Lydia silently watched this in quiet, bemused irritation. They had done everything they could to obstruct these adventurers from winning the games of Wonderland, but their servants had failed them at every turn. They could recruit one more of these surviving adventurers in a last-ditch effort for victory, but frankly, this battered band of puppets, singers, and gift-givers had earned their triumph. They had provided such glorious entertainment and vicious battle over these past few days. It was time to let them move on from our neon nightmare so that we could start over with a fresh batch of victims.

In unison, they announced to the few who still lived:

“You do have some more games to play before you shall finally stand victorious at the end of magical Wonderland, but first, one more kindness from your illustrious hosts. With so many initial Adventuring Parties still in play, this could be dragged out for some time. To speed things along, we are forcibly, temporarily dissolving your team boundaries to allow your alliances to reconfigure, your win conditions to readjust, and for you to gang up on those remaining outside your Party. Santa Claus has already sealed his fate to sacrifice his life to us, but any other independent agents, last persons standing like Ralph Loaf the bellowing bard, or Aera Verlyma the mysterious and sultry bird ranger, all have a chance to survive by joining the winning team! But heed our warning: Whichever group you flock to can only have a maximum of four players. Somebody must be left behind.”
