Jeopardy! recap for Tue., Jun. 11 – Here are today’s contestants:
– Terri, a writer-editor from Massachusetts, gives architectural history tours in Boston;
– Dan, a forklift operator from Idaho, whose 18-month-old likes Jeopardy! until Alex comes out; and
– Martin, a high school teacher from Tennessee, got eaten by mosquitoes on the Oregon Trail. Martin is a one-day champ with earnings of $35,601.
Martin appeared to be in great shape when he expanded his lead on DD2. Then Dan cut the margin, found DD3 on the last clue of DJ and bet $8,000 to take first place into FJ with $20,600 vs. $20,200 for Martin and $5,000 for Terri.
DD1, $800 – KEEP YOUR PLACES STRAIGHT – “We are here” in this city — but the one with a U. of Louisiana campus, or the seat of Tippecanoe County, Indiana? (Terri lost $600.)
DD2, $1,200 – LITERARY GREEN THUMB – In “Through the Looking-Glass”, Alice meets a talking one of these flowers, also a character’s name in “Peter Pan” (Martin won $4,200 from his score of $10,800 vs. $3,800 for Dan.)
DD3, $800 – BUSINESS – Almost a decade after a big spill, it’s the biggest company by revenue that’s headquartered in England (Dan won $8,000 from his total of $12,600 vs. $20,200 for Martin.)
FJ – LANDMARKS – Poet Rabindranath Tagore compared this landmark to a teardrop glistening on the cheek of time
Everyone was correct on FJ, with Dan completing a sensational comeback by adding $20,000 to win with $40,600.
No harm no foul: Each player made an incorrect guess on the setting for the film “22 July”, which was Norway.
This day in Trebekistan: When introducing a first round category, Alex confessed to adding some extra “doo doo”s, and gave us fair warning that Teen Tournament II for season 35 starts on Monday.
DD1 – What is Lafayette?
DD2 – What is tiger lily?
DD3 – What is BP?
FJ – What is the Taj Mahal?
