Once a year, our city library puts on a Comic-Con. They have panels, booths for local artists to show off their wares, “How To Play D&D” seminars, and a cosplay contest. And, of course, plenty of comics and fried food.
It attracts a tiny fraction of the people the one down the freeway in San Diego gets, but I find that to be a feature, not a bug. And the weather in March is much nicer than in July.
