So Rudy’s still crazy and the old deflections and outright lies don’t seem to be working as well as they used to. Maybe there’s hope for the press yet.
Elsewhere, The GSA’s inspector general has submitted a report on Trump’s hotel next to the White House. Unsurprisingly, they found that the GSA had acted improperly, not reading the lease and ignoring the Constitution in the process, perhaps in an attempt to kick the can down the road. Well it’s back. Yes, he violated the emoluments clause in order to enrich himself and sell US policy to the highest bidder. We knew this as far back as the beginning of the Long Night, 2017. Can you please do something about it?

Let’s see… Theresa May somehow survived her vote of no confidence. So the UK pretty definitively does not want to do Brexit, but they can’t get rid of the one person still hellbent on the whole plan, and the rest of Europe is just watching to see what happens next.

Like, the US and the UK have been responsible for some pretty horrendous decisions over the years, but perhaps the defining aspect of this shared legacy will be the abject stupidity at the core of them.
Finally, the Senate voted down an effort by Democrats to keep the sanctions on Oleg Deripaska. They needed 60, they got 57, with 11 Republicans breaking with the party (among them, oddly John Kennedy). McConnell, Cruz, and Legendary Cold Warrior Maverick Mittens ‘Mit’ Romney were among the nays. There are no good Republicans.
