Best Video Game Tournament – 16-Bit Years – Eliminations, Round Two

This is part two of the elimination round for the 26-bit generation of video games, covering games roughly between 1990-94 including the SNES and Sega Genesis.

In this round, games have been arranged into groups of seven. You can vote for as many games in a group as you like.

At the end of the round, the bottom two games in each group will be eliminated.

In order to make the numbers work out, the three top nominated games have been given a bye. These are Super Mario World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Chrono Trigger.

From the previous elimination round:

  • Super Metroid received the most votes.
  • UN Squadron received the least votes — just one.
  • The game with the least votes moving on to the next round is QuackShot.
  • The games with the most votes that were eliminated are Masters of Orion and Shadowrun [SNES].

Additionally, Lemmings [SNES] has been eliminated on the grounds that it is not sufficiently different from Lemmings [PC], which will appear in this round. In its place is the higher voted of the two games that were eliminated from its group, Ogre Battle.

This round will close 10pm tonight.
