Sorry there was no box office last week; I was busy. But I’m back just in time to tell you that Black Panther has finally cleared $700M in its 25th weekend – $700,004,026, to be exact. (Infinity War has made $678M as of its 15th.)
Mission: Impossible – Fallout held first place in its second weekend, handily beating Christopher Robin $35M to $25M. The Spy Who Dumped Me claimed third with just under half that, $12.4M.
Other new openers included The Darkest Minds (#8, $5.8M) and Death of a Nation (#13, $2.3M), which were it for wide releases. Down near the bottom, at #42, is a rerelease of The Atomic Cafe in one theater. Do not look directly at it.
