Jeopardy! recap for Wed., Mar. 7 – Today’s contestants are:
– Lane , a business owner from Atlanta, GA, who is a fine pilot and no longer runs into fences;
– Emily, a graduate student of library science from Wappingers Falls, NY, who hears ghosts but hasn’t seen one; and
– Jack, a marketing associate from Portland, OR, who left the gun and took the canoli the night his wife proposed. Jack is a one-day champ with winnings of $26,500.
Jack showed a $600 net loss on the two DDs he found, but was still able to fend off Lane to hold the lead into FJ with $11,800 vs. $9,600 for Lane and $4,200 for Emily.
DD1 – ANIMATED DISNEY FILM BY VILLAIN – Governor Ratcliffe (Jack won $2,000)
DD2 – LITERARY EPONYMS – This nickname of little Margery Meanwell has come to mean one is who cloyingly virtuous (Jack lost $1,600)
DD3 – Not seen
FJ – COUNTRIES OF THE U.N. – The 3 U.N. member states that begin with the letter “J”; 2 are island nations & one is nearly landlocked
Lane forced himself to be right on FJ to have a chance to win by betting nearly everything, while a wager of less than $1,200 would have given him the victory if Jack missed, regardless of if Lane was correct. But this time the big bet worked out for the best, as Lane was correct and Jack missed, with Lane adding $9,598 to win with $19,198.
Sports slipups: No one knew baseball’s Florida spring training is called the “Grapefruit” League or that to change a play at the line of scrimmage is an “audible”.
This day in Trebekistan: By quickly admitting she knew she was wrong on FJ, Emily effectively mock-blocked Alex.
Correct Qs:
DD1 – What is “Pocahontas”?
DD2 – What is Little Goody Two-Shoes?
FJ – What are Jordan, Japan and Jamaica?
