This is the Sportacados Discussion Thread, for talking about all things sports! Feel free to live-chat games, talk about the latest news and rumours, discuss sports history, and anything else that relates to watching other grown adults throw or hit a ball. Hateration is allowed, but try to keep it within the realm of light banter.

News and Results

• Victor Wembanyama had an awe-inspiring performance on Wednesday night, scoring 52 points with 24 rebounds and 8 blocks, setting a career record in the first two categories. He needed every point, as the Spurs shot poorly from three and only won 112-111 over the Mavericks. Will this be the year Wemby captures the seemingly inevitable MVP award?
• The Court of Arbitration of Sports has ruled that the IIHF cannot exclude Russia from its international competitions, beginning with the upcoming World Juniors. In response, several countries’ federations have published statements saying that they will boycott games against Russian national teams. This whole thing veers a little close to PT, but I can both understand the feelings of European countries about this and also note that sports organizations have not exactly had a consistent standard on countries which launch military invasions.
• Michigan women’s basketball scored one of their best wins in program history last night, defeating #2 UConn 77-66. The win will give Michigan encouragement about their national title ambitions, and give Connecticut some pause during their all-important non-conference schedule. The men’s version of the two teams will battle tonight in another ranked matchup.
