The NFL’s continued push for international games has numbed me to the point that I did not realize until typing this that we are in the middle of a three-week stay in London. In fact, London’s “favorite” team in the Jaguars play the next two weeks there! Also I guess the Eagles are there for this week’s game, during what could be considered a pretty dreadful period for them mentally.
I probably wonder entirely too much how international audiences feel about the NFL. The quality of play shown at these games isn’t remotely to the level of a normal NFL game, with the caveat that the current quality of play in the NFL regardless of location isn’t great right now. At some point these audiences have to push back, right? Or are we just slaves of product, please we want more international game slop?
…though I do admit it was pleasant to enjoy breakfast last week at my favorite eatery while football was happening. Wait, did I just praise the international games? Oh no!
Speaking on this week’s games, thank goodness the Cowboys are banished to Thursday night this week. It’ll be pleasant to not have to think about them on Sunday. This week’s schedule in general features some…well, I guess there’s 49ers/Seahawks. That’s always a fun game that in no way causes mental harm to its viewers! But also Texans/Titans holy hell why? Giants/Commanders also sounds like mild hell. My rooting interest continues their offense-free adventures against the Saints. Maybe the Saints will score just enough points and I can stop apologizing for rooting for such a not-great undefeated team.
Regardless of your rooting interest (or not), feel free to talk about Week 5 of the NFL season below! Enjoy the games!
