Movieacados! This week we see the return of Laika animations studios to theatres with the film Wildwood. Ever since I have seen the trailer I am 100% all in on this to the point that I maybe breaking one of my own golden rules and getting too hyped for this. But in my own defense the hype here is threefold. 1/ I am animation junkie and have a particular soft spot for stop motion. 2/ The trailer looks spectacular! And finally 3/ Most importantly I have liked or loved everything I have seen from Laika so far. This of course is not the most important reason for the hype, that is courtesy of the amazing trailer I saw, this is most important as the subject of this week’s prompt.

Sometimes as a movie geek it seems like I just like with certain studios/production companies, particularly when it comes to animation and when it comes to animation I know who my favourite Pixar. There came a point for me where it was like noticing ‘that guy’ from ‘that movie’ except it was ‘those people’ who did ‘those movies’… okay, that sounded better in my head but for me it was definitely a moment of Illumination… I started noticing more and more teams of people who are not typically in front of the camera putting out great work, work that could be, should be and if all is right and just in the world would be noticed for the really good work they are doing. Essentially a teamwork making the cinematic Dreamwork(s). When it come to making movies it would seem studios Aar-D-Man (I understand this one was terrible and I am still proud of it, but I do make jokes Ghibli sometimes).

So considering all that above (and most likely ignoring my terrible puns while appreciating the good ones) this week’s prompt: Have you ever noticed a particular studio for movie releases? I am keeping the prompt vague on purpose, maybe you liked more than one movie and noticed the studio, maybe it’s a one and done, maybe there is someone you think is underappreciated and wanted to give a shout out, heck maybe it is someone local you want to promote all this and more is cool with me (always support local!)
