A’ja Wilson won her fifth WNBA MVP Award yesterday, following yet another dominant season where she led in points. This gives A’ja the most ever MVPs, including three straight, and adds to her case for being the greatest female hooper of all time. Rookie Olivia Miles achieved a notable second place finish. A’ja will be presented with the award before tonight’s Dream/Aces game, where her team is on the brink of elimination.
In the MLB playoffs, three of the four teams in the Championship Series have been announced, with the Dodgers facing the Brewers in a NLCS rematch from last year. After sweeping the Yankees, the Tampa Bay Rays now await the winner of the White Sox and Guardians. The White Sox had a two-game lead but gave up consecutive wins at home to force the battle for AL Central supremacy to a final game.
As the Premier League season looks to get back under way following an extended international break, Everton has been put up for sale by its owners the Friedkin Group. The group bought the team just two years ago, but it wasn’t a huge secret that they were looking to flip it. Everton are one of the few clubs who have never been relegated from the Premier League, but also haven’t won a trophy since 1995, making them an interesting prospect for a potential buyer.
