Heartbreak is hard. When we are with our loved one, our heart is fixed. It is fixed in one place, and it is fixed, availed of its formerly sad, broken, single state. Loneliness. When a breakup occurs, a heart is broken, and we long for it to be, in both senses, fixed again. We are drifting. We are in the ocean. At sea. No longer an entity fixed. We are coming apart. Falling apart. Put me back together. I am Humpty Dumpty. Canada’s Voivod understood this sentiment.
