Generally speaking, it’s good to let the kids — be it your children, your grandkids, you nieces or nephews — decide which movies they love. If they fell in love with the Super Mario Brothers Movie, then what can you do but spoil them with Bowser plushies.

But there are movies that you would love it if they would love it as well. One such film is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year: Mary Poppins. It’s got catchy songs, animation, dancing, and a magnetic performance by Julie Andrews.

One day I’m going to fire up Disney Plus, and my niece and I will watch it together. I guess part of it is because the movie meant so much to me as a kid, and my wish is that same wonder and magic works for her as well.

Will it hold up? Who knows: maybe it’s too slow-paced for a generation that grew up on CocoMelon and Peppa Pig. But I truly wish that she loves this film as I did.

Bonus prompt: which classic film do you dream of sharing with the next generation?
