Today is my birthday but I don’t want this thread to be about that. Instead, I want to turn this into an opportunity to share our favorite pop culture from the year 1987. Every year on this date I reflect on the releases from my birth year and continue to be impressed by the volume of media that shaped our pop culture landscape.

Of course, there’s more to pop culture and pop media than just films. Television, music, books, and even major headlines and events occurred throughout 1987 that would leave an impression for years to come.
