30 Day Animation Challenge Day 24: Best 1990s Animation

Giving a chance for specific periods of time to shine, to see the evolution of animation itself in so many different ways, we’re looking at what you think is the best/your favorite animation project of the 1990s. This can be a TV series, special, film, or something else since there were a few creative ways to release things.

This decade is when I really moved away from general Western animation and became a huge anime fan with the release of licensed products and a lot more accessibility. but there were still shows and films I kept up on and got into that weren’t anime.

And just to save other people from having to using it as their choice, I’ll go with Batman: The Animated Series. The release of the Blu-ray box set a couple of years ago was fantastic and had me revisiting it doing episode-by-episode reviews and it was a delight to just get into all that it did which was unlike most American animated series at the time.

In terms of films, there are a lot of good choices when you excise the Disney films from the list. The one that still sticks with me in a big way and ends up being watched anytime I come across it is The Iron Giant. Everything about that film just clicked for me.
