Some resonate far better than others, some adaptations of novels have minimized or ejected the love story element from their work in general. For me, it’s not exactly a horror movie but a monster movie with Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar-nominated Shape of Water. Everything about this film clicked for me and having Sally Hawkins as the lead alongside Doug Jones just delivered something that really resonated beautifully.
