Songs By The Letter, Side 2: Your Top “S” Songs

I just want to start by saying that S is the absolute hardest letter to get my list down to 25 songs, and for me, it’s not even close.

Welcome back to one of my favorite recurring features (although it does result in many  agonizing decisions). Since this is the second go-around, I’m calling it “Songs By The Letter, Side 2.”

The rules are simple, just list your top 25 songs that start with the letter “S”. (I said simple, not easy.) You can rank them if you want, or just list them in any old order. There was an unofficial house rule last time around to only list one song for each artist, just so there would be greater variety, but you don’t have to follow that if you don’t want to. It wouldn’t hurt my feelings if you found a letter with 25 different Beatles songs and listed them all. If you have fewer than 25, that’s OK, just list what you have. If you’re having too much trouble narrowing it down to only 25 songs (and trust me, for S, you will), that’s OK too. I’m not the boss of you.

After the letter Z, we’ll have one final post for songs that start with numbers or any other non-alphabetic symbols.

Finally, here’s a link to the first go-around for S in case you’re looking for inspiration.

(Pictured in the header: I missed my chance to use “Oh, Streetcar!” for O. So to make up for it, S is for The Simpsons. And if you have to ask “What’s The Simpsons?” you are clearly on the wrong site.)
