The Impeachment Trial continued yesterday with the public hearings of Amb Gordson Sondland, Defense Dept. Official Laura Cooper, and Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs David Hale. Cooper’s testimony was damning, through e-mails from her staff it was made clear that the Ukrainians were inquiring about military aid hours before the call on July 25, and that Ukraine had been aware of the aid freeze earlier than previously believed, effectively dismantling GOP talking points. Hale, for his part, corroborated other testimonies and stated that Marie Yovanovitch was an excellent ambassador and the smeaar campaign was false and wrong.
But, who did the day belong to, really? These are just career officials continuinng underlining how shady this fucking administration. Isn’t there some officious goober who got way in over his head, decide to throw everybody under the bus?
Sondland, whom has had his testimony several times before appearing before the committee in public, promptly threw everyone under the bus. Everyone? Yes.
Sondland made clear that Pence knew about it, Mulvaney, Pompeo, and Trump himself. That Trump not only knew about it he directed it. This led to the header image above, as almost as if on cue, Trump began denouncing Sondland in a Sharpie-prepared statement: I WANT NOTHING. I WANT NOTHING. I WANT NO QUID PRO QUO. TELL ZELINSKY TO DO THE RIGHT THING. THIS IS THE FINAL WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE US.
For their part, all of the above issued stern denials. But, I mean, c’mon.
Sondland was especially smug during his hearing, which is interesting for a guy who has had to change his story so many times. One representative, Sean Patrick Maloney, had enough and shamed the hotelier-cum-ambassador appropriately.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that Trump will be impreached in the House. Tragically, the Senate has its collective head up its own ass. Pity, that.
Meanwhile, the Democrats had another Presidential debate. I didn’t watch but I do know that Biden made another unforced error saying he had the support of the only female African American senator, which, ha, Kamala must’ve side-eyed the shit out of. Tulsi got some time to all of our sorrow. Fortunately, she didn’t seem to do much other than to reinforce what we already know: conservatives love her.
I rest my case. pic.twitter.com/qoAPCSvB8J

Bright side, none of the candidates were, at this point, stupid enough to have any doubts on impeachment. They’ve got that going for them, which is nice.
