Honey, I Shrunk The Kids was released theatrically on June 23rd 1989.

Rick Moranis stars as Wayne Szalinski, a scientist whose latest invention is a shrink ray. On the day of its inaugural test run, it fails to work.  However, when Wayne’s son and daughter and the neighbor kids go to retrieve a baseball in the workshop attic, the ray shrinks the kids! Frustrated, Wayne smashes the device and accidently throws the kids away in the garbage. As the kids try to make there way through the jungle of a backyard, will they make it home and be brought back to normal size?

This is one of the first movies I remember seeing in the movie theater back in 1989. I believe I saw it twice or three times that summer.

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids would get a few sequels and a T.V. spinoff starring Peter Scolari as Wayne.

We won’t talk about the proposed remake/sequel.
