I’m always fascinated by people like Peter Mayhew who stumble into a pop culture phenomenon and build an entire career out of it. He will only be known for playing one role, but roles don’t get much more widely beloved than his.

When I was growing up, my birthday was nothing more than “the day before Cinco de Mayo”, but since the grassroots growth of Star Wars Day, I have a much cooler association with the day I arrived on this weird planet.
