- 2016 – The television adaptation, Shadowhunters, premieres on Freeform TV.
- And tonight, May 6, 2019, Shadowhunters airs its 2.5 hour series finale.
Critics weren’t impressed by Shadowhunters when it first aired. The AV Club’s Lisa Weidenfeld wrote that the series “has the rare honor of being wildly complex and still wildly bland.” Fans who stuck with the show saw a marked improvement in season two. The show has since won Teen Choice Awards, People’s Choice Awards and a GLAAD Award. In thanks the network donated $25,000 to The Trevor Project.
When episode 3-20 ended the evil Jonathan had opened a portal to hell and destroyed the one weapon that could stop him. More importantly Magnus proposed to Alec!
