Attorney General William Barr testified in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday. In response to questions of how the Mueller Report was ultimately released to the public, Barr stated that as soon as Mueller handed it over, it was his baby. Meaning that he was free to release it and comment on it regardless of the intent of the Special Counsel.

So, the testimony was pretty embarrassing. At various times, he would not have an answer for the senators, huffily explain DOJ policy, and in general, stutter and stammer his way through the questions. The Republican senators, led by Lindsay “Huckleberry” Graham did their best to help him make the testimony a farce, reading texts from FBI agents and barking about Hillary’s e-mails. But with sharp questions being asked by Democratic senators like Kamala Harris and Maisie Hirono, it was made clear that Barr had, at best, a limited understanding of the Report’s findings. While not said out loud, Barr pretty clearly had his conclusions set in his mind well before he ever received the report and looked for ways to twist the Report’s text to support it. Like a freshman mangling a wikipedia article for their term paper!

So it’s not surprise then, that he’s chosen to ignore his scheduled appearance before the House Committee today. Barr is refusing on the grounds that the Committee is using staff attorneys to question him Jerry Nadler is in the process of subpoenaing his testimony. Personally, at this point, I’d initiate contempt proceedings against this presumptuous fuck, but that’s just me.
