Avocado Music Club #3: The World is a Beautiful Place… – Always Foreign

Hello! Welcome to the third album in the Avocado Music Club. Some set up, again: These are different than Album Spotlights which are great and people put a lot of effort into. I won’t be putting a lot of effort into the body of these because I hate writing and don’t want to put my own opinion in them. The goal with these will be to, hopefully, have people listen to them ahead of time and be interested in discussing the album – including, in the future, recommendations they may not have otherwise listened to and engaged with. From the initial recommendations, let’s listen and talk about:

The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die‘s Always Foreign

Released in 2017, Always Foreign is the third full release from the Connecticut modern-emo band. It currently has an 80 on Metacritic, and, full disclosure was the #2 album of the year for myself.

Track Listing:

So, come talk about this album. Is it great/good/bad? Does it mean anything? Favorite parts/lyrics? How does it hold up? What are its influences? Has it influenced anything? How does it compare with the rest of the year’s music? Talk about anything, even if it’s (politely) negative, have fun!
