DD2, video, $800 – TALK NERDY – Caltech scientist Carrie Nugent explained how to track and predict the impact these would have if on a collision course with Earth; the method used in the movie “Armageddon” is not very practical (Dave lost $1,000)

DD3, $1,200 – LITERARY ANTAGONISTS – Nurse Ratched rules the asylum with an iron fist in this novel (Emma won $1,600)

FJ – 19th CENTURY AMERICANS – Though he became a cabinet secretary and a Chief Justice, once he wanted to change his name because of its “awkward, fishy” sound

Unless you studied up on the Supreme Court, you probably weren’t going to get this one, and none of the players did. Emma chose to risk possibly getting passed by John if correct and go with a small $1,800 wager from the lead, which worked out for the best, as she held on for the win with $12,600.

Triple Stumpers of the day: No one could provide the first word in the TV title “Bachelor in Paradise” or knew the Wyoming county seat named for a soldier and not for a ghost, Casper.

This day in Trebekistan: Alex got to say “Samurai”, which was one of his favorite words when hosting Classic Concentration, as he loved to theatrically introduce the Suzuki Samurai.
