Maggie Simpson was standing on the other side of the dining room, just outside the stylized batwing doors of the Colorado Lounge where, on that night in 1945, all the booze would have been free. That’s how it started.
(Belly up to the bar, pardner, the drinks’re on the house.)
The Winter Caretaker wiped their mouth with the back of their hand. . .What happened next was unbelievable. Meeting Lloyd. Or was it Grady? Well, it didn’t matter. Not here. With the snow falling, pushing down from the sky like a heavy blanket. There was no point in trying to walk any further. The maze was changing, moving. Time had ceased to matter. (You’re the caretaker. . .you have always been the caretaker). Yes. That’s right. Yes. Then, darkness.
Meanwhile, back inside the Overlook Hotel the guests were celebrating their recent victory with more champagne. They were confident that the threat had been removed thanks to their quick thinking. It didn’t matter that they were trapped in the hotel until the snow melted. It didn’t matter that the Sno Cat was gone. It didn’t matter that they had called that officious little prick instead of the police when they had the chance. They were safe now.
Of course, they were anything but safe. But one of them was lucky. Lucky that after they passed out at the bar they had been carried safely to their bedroom. Lucky that they were not left to become easy prey. Lucky that the door locked securely. Lucky. A quiet night passed. No bodies were found in the morning.
No one died.

1 Gifted Child (Town Cop)
1 Head Chef (One Shot Town Martyr)
2 “Twins” (Town Shared QT)
Scum Roles:
3 4 Vengeance-Seeking Ghosts (Vanilla Wolves)
1 Ghostly Bartender (One Shot Recruiter Wolf)
1 Winter Caretaker (Vanilla Town Turned SK)
The rules at the Overlook Hotel are fairly simple. During the Day, you will socialize and vote. You will have until Twilight to vote to kill one of the guests that you suspect is actually a ghostly visitor seeking vengeance against the living. The guest who receives a majority vote (or who has the most votes by Twilight) will be thrown into the Hedge Maze where they will either freeze to death or be consumed by the void. If a majority is reached before official Twilight, the Day will automatically end (even if your charming narrator is not here to call Twilight). In the case of a tie, the Hotel’s victim will be decided by luck (RNG).
The Head Chef has one opportunity in the game to die in place of another player. This can be done during the Day (before Twilight) or during the Night. If they activate their power during the Day, the person with the most votes will not die. Instead, the Head Chef will die. The person who was spared can also not be killed that night. The Head Chef also as the option of using their power at Night. They can choose a specific player to protect. If that player is targeted for death (and The Mother doesn’t interfere), the Head Chef will die in their place. The Head Chef keeps their power until they die.
If one “Twin” is killed, the other will also die.
During the Night, the Mother, the Gifted Child, and the Winter Caretaker (appointed after certain conditions are met) will choose targets in their personal QTs. The Vengeance-Seeking Ghosts will choose their target in their shared QT.
Jailing happens first, then investigation, and then the killing/recruiting. If a player is jailed they cannot be killed, investigated, or recruited. If the Gifted Child is jailed they cannot receive messages from Tony. If the Winter Caretaker is jailed they cannot kill. If the Head Chef is jailed they cannot use their power. If the Ghostly Bartender is jailed they cannot recruit. The Mother cannot jail themselves or the same player two nights in a row.
Hotel Guests (Town) win when all Vengeance-Seeking Ghosts (Wolves) and the Winter Caretaker (Serial Killer) are dead. The Vengeance-Seeking Ghosts win when they outnumber the Hotel Guests and the Winter Caretaker is eliminated. The Winter Caretaker wins when they outlive everyone else.
You are a HOTEL GUEST. Welcome to the Overlook Hotel. We hope you enjoy your stay. There have been reports of some strange activity, and we admit that there have been…accidents in the past. But your safety is our priority, and despite the fact that we’ve left you in the hotel with only a Head Chef and a Winter Caretaker to tend to your needs should not alarm you in the slightest.
If there happens to be trouble, please know that your only power is your vote. There is no way to contact the outside world.
Please note that you will need to make a handful of game-related comments per Day (three to six at least). Your narrator has been told that the hotel gets very angry when people don’t participate, so you will be *clears throat* dealt with, if you don’t participate.
NO EDITING OR DELETING for any reason, including typos.
Directly quoting or screenshotting QT is not allowed.
Remember to have fun! This is a game of murder, but it is still just a game.
