“Save us O please save us If you can’t save us at least come play with us Come and play with us Come and play with us…Forever…And Forever…And Forever…”
They weren’t twins. Not really. Everyone just thought that because they wore the same clothes and looked so similar. No. Not twins. But they were close. So very close. When their daddy murdered them with a hatchet they had stopped breathing at the exact same moment. But they didn’t leave the Overlook Hotel. They lingered. But they wanted to help. To warn. Walking hand in hand down the hallways of the Overlook Hotel, disguised as guests, they looked for signs of murder. It was heavy in the air. Then they heard the voice.
“Come here, darlings. I know you want to leave. You want to take them all away. But I won’t let you. I’ll correct you. Again.”
They ran. They screamed. But no one could hear them. Just as no one could hear them before. They experienced their deaths over and over again in this way. But this time felt different. It felt more final. They could do nothing to help the guests at the Overlook Hotel now.
As the figure carrying the hatchet looked down at the fading apparitions that had once been living, breathing daughters, they simply smirked. “We have more important matters to attend to tonight. They won’t bother us anymore.”
Continental Breakfast Enthusiast (subsaharan) and GlaDOS (dw) have died. They were THE “TWINS” (Town Shared QT)
The night wore on. Several guests tossed and turned in their beds. Nightmares filled their heads. Visions of blood and snow. and the Hedge Maze. One guest heard a knock at their door. Perhaps they shouldn’t have answered, but they did. A smiling face masked in shadows.
“H-hello?”
There wasn’t time to say anything else. A hatchet blade was lodged firmly in their forehead. But that wasn’t the end. Bad things linger. They do that sometimes. There’s little pieces of those bad things still laying around all over the Overlook Hotel. Now there’s one more.
“Join us.”
Meanwhile, the Winter Caretaker was in the basement adjusting the boiler. Stupid piece of shit. That cheapskate Shockley should just update this ancient system. Having to come down here every day and night just so those rich bastards don’t get a little chill. God I hate this place. Why did I ever agree to do this shit job?
(Did you see their denim jacket? So cheap. And that smell! Why do poor people always smell like that?)
Oh yes, he had heard all of their little comments. The officious little pricks. He hated them all. Maybe he should teach them a lesson. Starting with that wimpy Assistant Manager. (yes oh yes that would show them)
When you all come down to the Dining Room for breakfast you find something that kills your appetite. Blood is dripping from the ceiling. The Assistant Manager has been tied to the chandelier. Beaten to death with what looks like a roque mallet. One of you calls out from the Manager’s office: “The phones are down. And that snow is going to make it impossible to leave today. We’re trapped.”
Colonel Mustard has died. He was the ASSISTANT MANAGER.*
*Note that he wasn’t really in the game. This is just for fun.
Town Roles:
12 9 Hotel Guests (Vanilla Town)
1 Mother (Town Jailkeeper)
1 Gifted Child (Town Cop)
1 Head Chef (One Shot Town Martyr)
2 “Twins” (Town Shared QT)
Scum Roles:
3 5 Vengeance-Seeking Ghosts (Vanilla Wolves)
1 Ghostly Bartender (One Shot Recruiter Wolf)
1 Winter Caretaker (Vanilla Town Turned SK)
The rules at the Overlook Hotel are fairly simple. During the Day, you will socialize and vote. You will have until Twilight to vote to kill one of the guests that you suspect is actually a ghostly visitor seeking vengeance against the living. The guest who receives a majority vote (or who has the most votes by Twilight) will be thrown into the Hedge Maze where they will either freeze to death or be consumed by the void. If a majority is reached before official Twilight, the Day will automatically end (even if your charming narrator is not here to call Twilight). In the case of a tie, the Hotel’s victim will be decided by luck (RNG).
The Head Chef has one opportunity in the game to die in place of another player. This can be done during the Day (before Twilight) or during the Night. If they activate their power during the Day, the person with the most votes will not die. Instead, the Head Chef will die. The person who was spared can also not be killed that night. The Head Chef also as the option of using their power at Night. They can choose a specific player to protect. If that player is targeted for death (and The Mother doesn’t interfere), the Head Chef will die in their place. The Head Chef keeps their power until they die.
If one “Twin” is killed, the other will also die.
During the Night, the Mother, the Gifted Child, and the Winter Caretaker (appointed after certain conditions are met) will choose targets in their personal QTs. The Vengeance-Seeking Ghosts will choose their target in their shared QT.
Jailing happens first, then investigation, and then the killing/recruiting. If a player is jailed they cannot be killed, investigated, or recruited. If the Gifted Child is jailed they cannot receive messages from Tony. If the Winter Caretaker is jailed they cannot kill. If the Head Chef is jailed they cannot use their power. If the Ghostly Bartender is jailed they cannot recruit. The Mother cannot jail themselves or the same player two nights in a row.
Hotel Guests (Town) win when all Vengeance-Seeking Ghosts (Wolves) and the Winter Caretaker (Serial Killer) are dead. The Vengeance-Seeking Ghosts win when they outnumber the Hotel Guests and the Winter Caretaker is eliminated. The Winter Caretaker wins when they outlive everyone else.
You are a HOTEL GUEST. Welcome to the Overlook Hotel. We hope you enjoy your stay. There have been reports of some strange activity, and we admit that there have been…accidents in the past. But your safety is our priority, and despite the fact that we’ve left you in the hotel with only a Head Chef and a Winter Caretaker to tend to your needs should not alarm you in the slightest.
If there happens to be trouble, please know that your only power is your vote. There is no way to contact the outside world.
Please note that you will need to make a handful of game-related comments per Day (three to six at least). Your narrator has been told that the hotel gets very angry when people don’t participate, so you will be *clears throat* dealt with, if you don’t participate.
NO EDITING OR DELETING for any reason, including typos.

Remember to have fun! This is a game of murder, but it is still just a game.
