Yesterday in the night thread, our good friend The Prighlofone posted this idea as a subthread, but given the nature of the open thread and the length of time it would take some of us to formulate a reply to such a question, it pretty much got buried before anyone could comment on it. So, with the blessing of The Prighlofone, here it is as a standalone thread!

Starting with your year of birth, pick your favorite of all the TV shows that happened to debut that year, and then continue up until the present day. I suspect there aren’t many among us who have an encyclopedic knowledge of such things, but Wikipedia has categorical lists of American, Canadian and British TV shows that debuted by year, and there may be lists for other countries as well.

Since weekends tend to be a bit slower around here (at least in terms of the number of threads posted) hopefully this will stay active for a while. Have fun!
