Hey, all; Happy Friday-

 

So, considering the relative heaviness of the past few weeks, I thought it was time for a lighter tack this week; an idea which was, in no small part due to the fact that, by the time this goes up, I’ll have been up for several hours playing the remake of Resident Evil 2.

Now, before anyone thinks to judge, I gave my job ample notice that I would be taking the day off, today and, so long as one does that, our boss  couldn’t care less why you’re out. This is not something I’ve done in a very long time. despite my propensity for the electronic amusements; and it got me thinking that, no matter how one might try to spin it, I was basically raking an entire day to dick around. I couldn’t even couch it in the idea of a mental health day, as Fridays are basically a day to catch up on paperwork and not meet with any new clients. I was, well into my 36th year, playing hooky from work.

And thus in the interests of hopefully provoking fun discussion (not to mention in a vain attempt to justify my own slackassness) I ask: Howzabout you? Have you ever taken time off of work for a completely frivolous reason, perhaps even more than once? Don’t worry, I won’t tell; hell I’ll probably be too engrossed in the game to care much, anyway.

Of course, if you’re the more responsible-type (or at the very least, want to come across as such) feel free to just talk about whatever’s got your respective craw this week. As ever. have a safe and productive rest of the day, safe trip home, and great weekend. And remember: If you’re going to ditch, make it for a good reason.
