Werewolf 82: You Win or You Die (Day II)

The Riverlands were burning.

The war for the Iron Throne ended abruptly. It was like a dream, already passing to distant memory. Yet the blackened fields were still smoldering, and the bones strewn across village ruins had not been picked clean.

Everything was set aflame once again, this time for a war that would decide the fate of humanity.

The fire reflected off of the water surrounding the burning lands, glittering like millions of tiny jewels. To the Arryn scout viewing the carnage from the mountains of The Vale, it almost looked beautiful. The image was etched into his mind as his shaking hands sent a raven to King’s Landing — Enemy continues south; numbers growing steadily — and he took what little comfort he could in having seen such a grand sight before the fire reached the mountains.

A cry woke the inhabitants of King’s Landing. Rushing to the ramparts, they found the head of a three-eyed possum on a pike. All of its eyes were closed in death.

The three-eyed possum (hoho) was killed. He was a Spymaster.

The raven carrying the message from The Vale was perched on top of his head.

STARTING ROLES

  • 16 House Loyalists (Vanilla Town) – 4 in each Great House.
  • 4 Gaolers (Jailkeeper) – 1 in each Great House. Their target is protected and roleblocked. The target is only protected from one night action. They cannot target themselves; they cannot target the same person two nights in a row. The target can belong to any House.
  • 4 Spymasters (Traitor/Spy) – 1 in each Great House. Role name will be called Traitor or Spy interchangeably depending on the context.

RULES AND DETAILS

  • Each House has their own QT, along with each player’s private QT.
  • Each House starts off with 6 members. However, one traitor (a spy from another House) is in their midst. The traitor and which House they’re loyal to will be decided by RNG. Due to the nature of RNG, the spying can be reciprocal (i.e., House A has a spy in House B; House B has a spy in House A). However, each House only has one spy at the start of the game.
  • Each House QT will be informed which House their spy has infiltrated, but not the spy’s identity.
  • The starting spy has the power of recruitment that they’ll be able to use each night. They can only recruit from the House they’ve infiltrated. If killed, the first recruit is the new recruiter. If the first recruit is killed, the second recruit takes their place as the spy, and so on and so forth.
  • If a jailkeeper somehow targeted another jailkeeper, whoever submitted their target first takes precedence.
  • Spies can recruit anyone within the House they’ve infiltrated. If a jailkeeper is recruited, they lose their powers.
  • Recruits will be informed who recruited them. Spies will not be informed if their recruitment was successful.
  • Upon death, a player’s initial role plus whether they were recruited will be revealed. Their true House will not be revealed.
  • If a spy is lynched on the first day, they get to pick another person to pass on the torch of treachery. The new spy cannot recruit on Night 1.
  • Roles will not be updated.
  • Please read the summaries of each day’s events as they might play a role in your overall strategies.
  • WIN CONDITION FOR EVERYONE: YOU WIN IF YOUR GREAT HOUSE HAS THE MOST LOYAL MEMBERS (INCLUDING RECRUITS) STILL ALIVE AT THE END OF THE GAME. THE REST OF THE HOUSES WILL BE RANKED ACCORDINGLY.

DAY 2

  • At Twilight, the top three vote-getters are lynched. If there are fewer than three people in the voting pool, only the ones in the pool will die. If more than half of the remaining players vote for the same person, the day will end automatically. “No Lynch” votes are allowed, and if more than half of the remaining players vote “No Lynch,” the day will end automatically and no one will be lynched.

NIGHT 2

  • [FIRST NIGHT ACTION] Jailkeeper picks target.
  • [SECOND NIGHT ACTION] Spy recruits.
  • [THIRD NIGHT ACTION] Each player tells me in their private QT who they want to kill from their House QT. “No vote” is allowed. If all players pick “no vote,” no one will be killed. Traitors and recruits cannot vote. This includes any player recruited on the same night.
  • [THIRD NIGHT ACTION] If the spy’s recruitment was successful: House QT will be informed regardless of if the recruit was killed on the same night. They will not know who the recruit is. The spy will not know if they were successful. The recruit will be informed who recruited them.
  • [THIRD NIGHT ACTION] Each House gets to investigate one player from the House their spy has infiltrated. Their current role will be revealed.

DO NOT EDIT POSTS! DON’T QUOTE DIRECTLY FROM YOUR QT! Doing so may get you modkilled and end up hurting your team and the game overall. If you are watching the game or have died in-game, please limit your comments on the game thread, as they can be misconstrued or may inadvertently give away game details.

The game mechanics are pretty complicated, so I’m happy to answer any questions you may have in your personal QT or on the game thread.

Attack arguments, not people. Everyone has a different play-style. Be accommodating to them.

Roleplay is encouraged but not required. THIS GAME WILL NOT BE SPOILER-FREE.

Have fun!
