The Craftocado – New Year, New Projects

Hello hello, Craftocados.

As always, first of all… Whatcha makin’?

What are your plans for the new year? Are you the type who plans projects ahead and sets goals for what you want to get done over the next year? Or do you fly by the seat of your pants and let your whims carry you?

Every year I swear I’m going to finish my assortment of WIPs (mostly knitting projects), and get started on things I’ve purchased materials for. I suffer from an extreme case of “Ooh! Shiny!” and often set a project aside to start something new, never to return to the old one. Also I’m a procrastinating procrastinator who procrastinates. I’m excellent at starting projects. I’m bollocks at finishing them. Maybe this will be the year I change! (…she said for the last 20 years.)

Not much crafting done this week, I haven’t had as much time during this last stretch of the holiday season as I’d hoped, and am trying to finish up this little Halloween cross stitch that I started over Christmas. I swear I’m going to get it done before I start anything else. Really. I really really mean it this time.

Did you receive any fun crafty things over the holidays? My mom gave me a skein of fancy sock yarn and a set of project markers made with number beads. When you set a knit or crochet project aside and use your needles or crochet hook for something else, you attach the appropriately numbered marker to your project so that when you go back to it you know what size needles/hook you were using. Like these… (these aren’t the ones she made, but this is the idea.) They’re neato.
