Hi Score Girl is a romantic comedy manga series by Rensuke Oshikiri that ran for eight years and ended its run this September. It tells the story of Haruo Yamaguchi, a slacker and obsessed gamer who gets caught in a love triangle with his childhood friend and his junior-high bestie. The series is set in the ’90s, and it is known for its faithful depiction of video games and arcade cabinets from that era. An anime series based on the manga aired earlier this year in Japan, and it debuted in the West on Netflix on Christmas Eve.
