Snubby Awards: 1973 Results/1972 Voting

Max von Sydow seems to be the biggest snub of ’73, as he’s the only choice (besides Best Cast) to get more than 10 votes. He had 15 in Best Snubbed Supporting Actor, more than double closest competitor Christopher Lee. As we get fewer votes each year and it feels more and more like the Snubbies are winding down, I’m going to provisionally declare 1968 to be the end of the line. As pointed out last week, ’68 marked the end of the Hayes Code, which changed cinema dramatically. I reserve the right to change my mind once we get there, and I’d be happy to pass the baton if someone else wants to keep the feature running into the ’60s and ’50s and beyond. Regardless, I’ll bring the Snubbies back every Oscar season to vote on contemporary snubs.

Now, back to 1973. Here are your Snubby winners:

As we continue backwards to 1972, a reminder that anyone can suggest performances or films in any category, and you can upvote as many as you feel are deserving (including your own suggestions!)
