Scott OT #86: The Night Thread is Full of Pretty Pictures from The World of Ice & Fire (6/5)

In 2014, George R.R. Martin release an in-universe history book for the A Song of Ice & Fire series instead of The Winds of Winter. However, The World of Ice & Fire is actually cool enough to make up for this. We learn interesting lore that wasn’t mentioned in the stories. (i.e. that House Hightower was in Westeros before the First Men invaded, how Tywin Lannister killed house Reyne, etc.) But easily the best part of the book is the artwork. The artwork is just gorgeous. Here’s some of my favorite art from the book:

(Rhaeger Targaryen and Robert Baratheon fighting)

(The eunuch priests of Lorath)

(Dragonstone)

(Aegon the Conqueror riding Balerion the Black Dread)

(Maegor the Cruel burning the Sept of Remembrance)

(Valyria before the Doom)

(Ghiscari soldiers being marched off as slaves after being defeated by the Valryian Freehold)

Hope you all have fun posting here tonight and have a great night.
