YOUR BOX OFFICE NUMBERS (from Box Office Mojo)

  1. Solo
  2. Deadpool 2
  3. Adrift
  4. Avengers: Infinity War
  5. Book Club

Solo lost 65% in its second weekend, a steep drop off a not-great opening. Deadpool 2 fared a bit better in its third, losing 46%. The high opener was Adrift, at #3 with $11.5M. Infinity War lost an even 40% and now has a domestic total of $642.9M, slowly gaining ground on Black Panther (#18), which stands at $699.1M after making $247K this weekend. It’s now been out for 16 weeks.

After the successes of A Quiet Place and Book Club, Paramount is back to floundering with Action Point, which opened in ninth with a $2.3M take and a review in the old country that described it as “difficult to fully recommend.” Action Point currently stands at #23 on BOM’s list of Worst Wide Openings.

Better luck went to Upgrade, which opened in sixth on 1,450 screens and got good audience feedback. There weren’t any other movies that opened in more than 10 theaters, although things should heat back up again next week.
