American Dad! Season 15 Episode 8
Death by Dinner Party
Grade: B+

Theme episodes are usually American Dad!’s strong point, and tonight was no exception. The Colonel (of the ‘yup, been here this whole time’ variety) was an inspired touch. I saw the whole thing being to teach Roger a lesson coming a mile away, but it was still entertaining, especially as the show killed off folks that it could conceivably part with for good in order to build up the stakes.

American Dad! can mostly coast off of knowing just the right note to hit with each of its characters and have them bounce off of each other, so the unified focus of the episode was a boon to the drama and the humor, even if it never quite reached a crescendo of absurdity that the show’s sometimes capable of.
