Jeopardy! recap for Mon., Dec. 4 – Kyle quickly went from last to first in a DJ geography category and was on the edge of a runaway when he shopped for and found DD3. But he missed, which kept everyone alive into FJ with Kyle at $12,400, Alice with $9,200 and champ Lisa at $7,800.
DD1 – DISNEY PRINCESS NAMES – From the Latin for “dawn”, just like a Roman goddess (Alice won $2,000)
DD2 – COUNTRIES BY FIRST LETTER – Crossing Iberia, you see P.S.A. for Portugal & these 2 nations (Kyle won $2,000)
DD3 – AVIATION – The day before flying at mach 1 in 1947, he broke 2 ribs when he fell off a horse (Kyle lost $3,000)
FJ – CHILDREN’S BOOKS – For this series of picture books that started in 1987, each crowd scene takes about 8 weeks to illustrate
Everyone was correct on FJ and Kyle added $6,001 to win with $18,401, while Lisa gave up her best chance to win by betting everything, instead of making a small wager and hoping her opponents missed.
Football follies: In a category about NFL positions, no one could identify Carson Palmer and Warren Moon as quarterbacks or Thurman Thomas and Curtis Martin as running backs.
That’s before our time: In a “Double Talk” category, the players didn’t remember the 1960s comedy about a Soviet submarine run aground in New England, “The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming”. Also, no one guessed the “around the globe” airline that introduced in-flight movies in 1961 was TWA.
DD1 – What is Aurora?
DD2 – What are Spain and Andorra?
DD3 – What was Chuck Yeager?
FJ – What is “Where’s Waldo”?
