The top 6 (the above, plus Murder on the Orient Express) held static this week, with no new releases in the top 10. There was some light shuffling – Lady Bird and Three Billboards up, The Star, Roman J. Israel, and Bad Moms Christmas down – but the highest open for a new film was The Disaster Artist in limited release at #12.

Further down the chart, Titanic opened its 20th anniversary re-release in 14th place, at 87 theaters (will it finally turn a profit? Who knows!) Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water and Woody Allen’s Wonder Wheel opened at 18th and 19th, in two and five theaters, respectively. It’s too early to know if the public will finally turn on Allen, but it’s perhaps worth noting that the per-theater take for Water was almost three times higher than Wheel.

Way down the chart, at #44, something called Another WolfCop has opened in six theaters. According to IMDb, “Alcoholic werewolf cop Lou Garou springs into action when an eccentric businessman with evil intentions seduces Woodhaven’s residents with a new brewery and hockey team in this outrageous horror-comedy sequel.” Sadly, according to IMDb reviewers, it has a rating of 4.4/10.
