Epilogue to Toga Terror I: Dinner Party Massacre, originally conceived and written as an immediate addendum to the first game, and later considered as an ending for the Marcus Augustus character if he were retired between games.
He gently shut the door at the very end of the latest in a series of endless days, returning to his home with dread the same way he had every night for months. He dreaded what came after he entered his home. The building seemed so much larger ever since it became so much emptier, and its silence was oppressively deafening. He sat down in his chair, staring forward at the wall, and sobbed intermittently as he waited until late into the night when he finally received the relief of unconsciousness.

Servius Lupus slid the knife between the sleeping Marcus Augustus’ ribs, and left him to die away from the crowd as he crept back towards the manor’s central chamber, but he found the gladiator Titus Andronicus standing in his way. Titus swiftly snatched the blade from the senator’s hands and shoved past him with a knee to the gut for good measure, all before he had time to react. Reeling from the pain, Servius Lupus attempted to pursue Titus, but Titus found the bleeding Marcus Augustus first. Without hesitation, he forcefully drove the small knife into Servius’ left eye.
As he lifted the two senators, one dead and one dying, over his shoulders, Titus calmly remarked, “I’d been having my suspicions, but never foresaw this shameful display.”

Titus tossed Lupus in the general direction of the lined up dead in the corner, and carefully sat down Marcus Augustus, whose eyes finally, slowly opened due to the commotion, at the tail of the table.
He sighed upon glancing at the latest injustice he’d suffered, the gaping wound in his torso. “I suppose it had to happen sooner or later, but I can’t say I expected you to protect me, Titus.”
One of the other survivors demanded to know what Titus had done, and queried whether Marcus was sure that Titus hadn’t been the one to assault him.
Marcus weakly slapped the table in frustration. “Servius was the one who stabbed me. Titus had been evidently suspecting that he was a serially murderous agent, independent of the conspiracy that my cousin Decimus had been a part of, but nonetheless working towards the same goal of preserving the Roman status quo. He may not have saved my life, but he’s extended it. In exchange, Titus, I will you grant you your freedom, and furthermore, in the short time I have left, I retract my retirement from the Senate. By dying an untimely death during my service rather than having forsaken it, I retain the right to choose my successor instead of leave it up to a vote. Before I bleed out by the end of this next round of discussions, I will have selected them. In the meantime, I must point out to you all that Justice Ruler appears to have his neck broken. Did nobody pay enough attention to witness this?”
“Honestly, we hadn’t even noticed he’d gone quiet.”

The psychology and motivations of your characters take greater priority over approximation of period language.
