Chaos has erupted in the capital city of our great empire Rome. It is 180-sleventy AD, and in the months since the failed scheme of Fabiola Festus resulted in the deaths of herself, her husband and several other prominent candidates to fill vacant seats within the Senate, several powerful women vying for these seats have emerged, while the corrupt and conservative veterans of the Senate have done their best to drag their heels and hinder these candidates from threatening to tear apart what they see as the fabric holding our society together.
On the eve of the vote, Senator Aulus Scapula, lanista of the legendary and feared gladiator Hadrian, has invited these new candidates and their opponents alike in the hopes of talking this conflict out, building a bridge over the sinkhole that is on the verge of swallowing Rome whole.

After the entire party sat down at grand dining table in the central chamber of Aulus’ manor, they soon became anxious of where their first course and their host might be. At the ominous sound of clanking chains against the metal of the entry door’s exterior handles, one of the guests attempted to bolt, but was swiftly stopped by two of the numerous guards around the room. He was socked in the gut and shoved back onto his couch. The guards checked all the doors, pulling firmly to assure and demonstrate to everyone that they could not be opened from the inside. A most bizarre noise soon distracted them from this concerning development.
The severed head of their host bounced down the central stairs, followed by the mighty gladiator Hadrian, the blood still on his hands. He soon stood at the head of the table, and bellowed over the clamor of the upset attendees.
“Many moons ago, I was lured to a bathhouse on false pretenses so that I could be ambushed and abducted while back at home, my family was slain in their beds. I have been the slave of this monstrous empire ever since. I care not for your politics, for the outcome of tomorrow’s voting. I know that the person who gave the order is sitting at this table. None of you will leave here alive until I find them. You are advised to aid me in my investigation if you wish to live. Any deaths that occur this evening will be justice, the elite caught in the tide that is Hadrian’s Glorious Slave Revolt. Tonight, I finally declare war on this cesspit called Rome.”
Phase 1 Begins
The first day will be 48 hours, ending at 6 PM Central on Friday, and all days after will be between 24 and 36 hours. Days can also end early if a majority votes to lynch.
Nights will be 24 hours, unless all night actions are submitted before then. Buffer time will be included to prevent time-based metagaming.
If the 1-shot Vig attempts to kill someone protected by the JailKeeper, they will fail, but they will retain their 1-shot ability.
The SK’s kill will be indistinguishable from the Mafia kill.
You may NOT quote anything I say to you in your QT. If you have questions for me regarding the game or your role, please ask me there.
Remember: Attack arguments, not people. This is a game. Have fun, but also respect when someone is playing seriously. Everyone has a different playstyle and you’ll figure out yours along the way.
I will be flexible with regards to your language, its modernity versus RP-appropriateness, as long as everyone remains committed to role-playing and remaining firmly in character throughout. The psychology and motivations of your characters take greater priority over approximation of period language.
Anyone not familiar with the first Toga Terror roleplay and interested in this is encouraged to read all of the pages for it to better familiarize yourself with the characters and narrative. I can provide the links for these.
