Werewolf XI: You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive (Day 1 Game Thread)

(For those of you more familiar with the show, this is taking place roughly in early season 2.)

Early 2011, Harlan, Kentucky, Johnny Crowder’s bar. A crowded evening, full of some of the biggest personalities of Harlan, spanning across the spectra of age, position of power, etc. Some are just here to rest after an honest day’s work, but most are restless, active, and certainly not working honestly. At 7:03 PM, their evening shifts irreparably as a team of US Marshals including Art Mullen, Raylan Givens, Tim Gutterson and Rachel Brooks beat down the front door and storm in, aiming their firearms at everyone in the bar and ordering their subordinates to lock down every door and window in the place. Raylan makes the announcement that sets everyone on edge: They’ve received word that the Dixie Mafia, the largest, most dangerous institution in the South’s criminal underworld, has bought out Harlan natives who will help them eliminate and seize control of the town’s criminal community in exchange for money and protection. This is a threat to the livelihoods of every single person here, but the Marshalls believe that these informants are in this very bar, and they will interrogate each individual and keep all of them here until there’s a break in the case.

Day 1 Begins

The first day will be 48 hours, ending at 2 PM Central on Sunday*, and all days after will be between 24 and 36 hours. Days can also end early if a majority votes to lynch.

Nights will be 24 hours, unless all night actions are submitted before then. Buffer time will be included to prevent time-based metagaming.

If the 1-shot Vig attempts to kill someone protected by the JailKeeper, they will fail, but they will retain their 1-shot ability.

The SK’s kill will be indistinguishable from the Mafia kill.

Remember: Attack arguments, not people. This is a game. Have fun, but also respect when someone is playing seriously. Everyone has a different playstyle and you’ll figure out yours along the way.

I will be flexible with regards to your language, its nature versus RP-appropriateness, as long as everyone remains committed to role-playing and remaining firmly in character throughout. The psychology and motivations of your characters take greater priority over approximation of location-accurate language.
