Jeopardy!

LIT TITLES BY THE NUMBERS // IT’S A PLANE // THE REAL TAGLINES OF THE REAL HOUSEWIVES // “STOP” THE PRESSES! // ONE FOR THE MONEY // 2 FOR THE SHOW

DD1 – $1,000 – ONE FOR THE MONEY – Named for a city in Italy, it was a gold coin of Austria, the Netherlands or Great Britain (Amar lost $2,800 on a true DD.)

Scores at first break: Amar $0, Brendan $2,800, Liz $1,400.

Scores entering DJ: Amar $400, Brendan $3,800, Liz $1,800.

Double Jeopardy!

CONGRESS ACTED UP // MEN OF SCIENCE // NAME, THE EXPRESSION // SIGNATURE SONGS // MISTAKEN IDENTITY // WHERE IN “THE” WORLD?

DD2 – $1,200 – NAME, THE EXPRESSION – A nickname for Friedrich is in this expression used of broken electronics (Liz dropped $3,000 on a true DD.)

DD3 – $1,600 – CONGRESS ACTED UP – The Helms-Burton act notes, “Radio Marti” was one of the “effective vehicles for providing the people of” this nation “with news” (With $800, Amar wagered $1,200 and missed.)

In a game in which all three DDs were missed, Amar struggled well into DJ, but his opponents weren’t doing much either, so Amar was able to establish a lead into FJ at $9,200 vs. $5,200 for Liz and $3,000 for Brendan.

Final Jeopardy!

ARTWORK – Rembrandt’s only seascape is set here, where the main figure once said, “Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?”

Only Liz was correct on FJ, but shockingly she wagered $0, so Amar was able to hang on, dropping $1,201 to win with $7,999 for a two-day total of $24,599.

Final scores: Amar $7,999, Brendan $100, Liz $5,200.

Jeopardy! rule book: Brendan learned a lesson when he was ruled incorrect after leaving a word out of a song title, as for a later clue he gave more than the actual song title, which for whatever reason is deemed to be acceptable under the rules.

That’s before their time: Depressingly, no one knew the star of classic films “Rear Window” and “Vertigo” is Jimmy Stewart.

Correct Qs: DD1 – What is florin? DD2 – What is on the fritz? DD3 – What is Cuba? FJ -What is the Sea of Galilee?
