This is part of a series of mini-reviews of The Police’s studio albums, ranked worst to best. (Don’t worry; I’ll keep them short.)
#3: Zenyattà Mondatta.
This would’ve ranked higher if all of the songs were of the caliber of the hit singles. But two instrumentals drag it down.
BEST SONGS: Don’t Stand So Close To Me, Driven To Tears, Canary In A Coal Mine, De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da, Shadows In The Rain
WORST SONGS: Behind My Camel and The Other Way Of Stopping, the two instrumentals.
Fun Fact: Sting didn’t play on the former, written by Summers, so Andy overdubbed the bass. Sting also claimed that he buried the tape in the garden, it was so bad.
