Hi Everybody! (Hi Doctor Nick!)

I wanted to make this post to invite everyone here and all the people I have enjoyed talking with over the years through my random posting about movies on the AV Club, Nathan Rabin’s site, and the Avocado, to my free Overdue Reviews Movie Substack. I only post my high-effort writing that I feel deserves to live outside of letterboxd, generally two articles a week.

I am mostly focused on weird, old, and/or obscure movies, and try to be fun and informative even if readers haven’t seen (or even heard of) the movie. Free subscribers get everything I publish, paid subs are optional but appreciated and let you pick a movie for me to review.

I have posted 70+ articles so far, with multiple ongoing series including:

Superhero Cinema Obscura – covering foreign, forgotten, and flop superhero movies from outside of the superhero blockbuster era

Lipstick & Bullets – movies at the bloody intersection of romance, crime, and action!

Literally Underrated – good movies that have barely been logged on letterboxed or imdb, usually less than a thousand entries on LB is my threshold.

Tubi Tuesday – a true grab bag of stuff that can be found on free streamer Tubi

I also have done some theme weeks:

Covering all 5 Tim Thomerson “Trancers” movies for my wife’s birthday week, and randomly celebrating actress Babylon 5’s Claudia Christian and her B-movie career for her birthday week.

My favorite things I have written were my reviews of underappreciated 1980s movies The Legend of Billie Jean and Knightriders, and my tribute to the late artist/writer Sam Kieth 

My most popular article was the baffling and boobtastic Baby Cat.
