Welcome to the movie club! Today’s movie is Yasujirō Ozu’s drama film The End of Summer! Sorry about the delay and truncated post but work decided to get busy today!

The End of Summer follows the Kohayagawa family, starting on the days leading up to a memorial service for their matriarch. The father. Manbei, has recently started seeing his former mistress again, bringing him into conflict with many of his family members, while at the same time, his widowed daughter-in-law Akiko is being pressured into finding a new husband.
