NCAA Football Week 1.2 Puts YOU In The Game

Finally, some matchups! Sort of. In culinary terms, Saturday is a groaning feast of side dishes and anonymous, church picnic caliber pasta. What can Indiana do for an encore? We’ll begin to find out early on against North Texas. I’m sure their Longhorn Power is no match for Cignetti’s Glower Power. The ‘cuse is loose, against New Hampshire while Bama hosts East Carolina and Ohio State takes on Ball State, a name that will never not bring out my inner Beavis and Butt-head. Later in the day, Texas hosts Texas State, and nobody from the latter institution has responded to my repeated inquiries pestering them to wear the same uniforms that Scott Bakula wore when he played for Texas State, except for something called a “cease and desist.” At least some rivalries start going down in the afternoon games. UTSA hosts UT Rio Grande Valley, South Florida hosts Florida International, South Alabama hosts SE Louisiana, MASS HYSTERIA! Something resembling a main course arrives in the evening with Clemson going to LSU, that sounds like a legit matchup. And Sunday gives us some ranked teams in games that matter. And in the end, isn’t that what we all wish for?
